Boar's Rock Wineries
Complete winemaking services all under one roof.

(Well, a number of roofs, actually.)

Our contract-processing services have proven so popular that in a relatively short period of time we've added two more wineries to compliment our original facility.

The result is that we are now strategically positioned in the key grape growing regions of McLaren Vale, Waikerie (in the South Australian Riverland) and Margaret River.

Under the guidance of Mike Farmilo and a talented team of winery managers, winemakers and cellar hands, each facility provides a custom crush service that includes grape processing, vintage and post-vintage winemaking and bulk wine storage.

Because we are completely independent, you can be assured that every service, no matter how big or small, receives meticulous attention.

And we never forget whose wine it is either: we always seek your input so we can make your wine just the way you would in your own winery.

If you're a winemaker, you'll undoubtedly provide that input yourself; on the other hand, you may use the services of an independent consultant winemaker of your choice. Either way, it's always a team effort.

All of this we do without favour or compromise; a position we can only take because we are truly, fiercely independent.

McLaren Vale winery

This is where our custom crush services began in 1997 and where you'll still find our headquarters and first winery today.

Our Principal Winemaker, Mike Farmilo, personally briefed the design of this modern, clean and efficient winery in order to allow our team the flexibility to manage each parcel of wine individually.

At no stage does your wine come into contact with that of our other clients.

With this batch winemaking management process, your costs are as simple to follow as the maturation of your wine.

On top of which, continuous monitoring is only a lab test or tasting away.

Waikerie winery

In 2005, Boar's Rock found a way to double its processing capacity virtually overnight by buying the Southcorp winery on the eastern perimeter of Waikerie in South Australia's Riverland.

Major upgrades undertaken from 1996 through to 2000 made the winery perfectly suited to contract processing: it can receive over 1,000 tonnes of grapes per day with ferment, press, centrifuge and refrigeration capacities downstream to match.

All of which is also perfectly suited to the scale of the ultra-efficient Riverland grape growers.

Naturally, the same high standards we've established at McLaren Vale and Margaret River are also maintained at Waikerie, giving you the confidence of seamless consistency regardless of whichever Boar's Rock winery you use.

Margaret River Winery

In 2007 Boar's Rock purchased the Evans & Tate winery located at Jindong in the Margaret River GI.

The winery was built on a 45 hectare green field site in 1999 and has processed up to 11,000 tonnes.  It is now one of the largest wineries in Western Australia processing around 10% of the state’s grape harvest.

The facilities at the winery are further enhanced with the location of a modern and flexible contract wine bottling & packaging service adjacent to the winery.

As usual, the same high standards we've established at our other wineries are also maintained at Margaret River, again giving you the confidence of seamless consistency regardless of whichever Boar's Rock winery you use.
